Mission Statement: The purpose of the Staff Development Department is to work as a team to effectively and efficiently promote student achievement by providing teacher mentoring, streamlined data systems and professional development opportunities to all Buffalo Public Schools staff.

  • Place and maintain a qualified, effective, quality teacher in every classroom

  • Establish a consistent professional growth system to support teacher delivery of instruction that is standards-based, aligned with District initiatives and ensures high academic achievement for all students

  • Implement a standards-based evaluation plan with feedback, holistic rating, and an analysis of results

  • Establish the continuous examination of and reflection on personal professional growth through individual Professional Development Plans

  • Employ an implementation and efficacy study to assess the success of the implementation of the plan
